A Piece of Florida
Florida Catch began with a lifelong love of being outdoors.
I grew up in Texas with my brother, where our days were spent exploring lakes, creeks, ponds and mountain water, fishing until we were called home — and sometimes staying out a little longer than we should have. We learned to catch our own bait, dig through our grandfather's old tackle box, rig our rods and reels, and follow the fish wherever they took us.
Those early experiences gave us something that has stayed with me: a deep appreciation for the freedom, peace and connection that comes from being outside.
Years later, after meeting my wife and moving to Florida, that relationship with the outdoors took on a new character. Here, the landscape changes every day — mangroves, tides, birds, beaches, backwaters, rough Gulf water, quiet flats and spectacular sunsets. There is always something moving, feeding, flying, swimming or changing.
Florida Catch is my way of capturing some of those moments.
I create pen-and-ink and watercolor artwork inspired by the fish, wildlife, places and experiences that make Florida special to me. Each piece is meant to feel less like a picture of Florida and more like a memory of being there.
