I have degrees in art and English, but focused for many years on raising kids and creating a home and career. (I am a recovering high school English teacher, as of January 2019.)

One summer day in 2010, I decided that I wanted to get back to the "artistic" me. I began consigning glass tile necklaces to several local businesses.

After a handful of sales and encouraging feedback about my necklaces, I decided to venture into other kinds of jewelry. It was then that I retrieved a long-neglected beach glass collection and began to experiment with "glass stack" pendant designs.

What eventually became Fluff & Ruff designs was born and the Etsy shop opened in April of 2012.

Fluff & Ruff now includes precious metal clay pendants, stamped and forged copper jewelry, etched metals, enameled copper, and hand-beaded and wire-wrapped chains.

I try to stay as eco-friendly in my studio as possible (I use upcycled materials, for example, and few or no chemicals), and create jewelry that I like to think of as surf-chic. My goal is to achieve a laid-back vibe mixed with artisan polish.
