Modern Jewelry from Yesterday's Fashion

My indoor workspace. Mostly while the baby naps. When I can, I take my kit outside and work.
Vintage buttons are tiny works of art. I love giving new life to the single buttons that lost their family.

Appreciating Yesterday's Forgotten Fashions

As a child, I was always digging through my mother's button tin. It was filled with a kaleidoscope of buttons of all descriptions. Later, I inherited that tin containing all four of my maternal great grandmother's button caches.

I realized this tin of buttons was a tangible piece of family history. These tiny objects were gathered and saved by each stylish women from her family's garments, handed down the generations to descendants they did not yet imagine.

It inspired me to repurpose them in a way that showcases the unique style of every woman. I use my family buttons as well as other collections of family buttons and special beads gathered at garage and estate sales, thrift shops and donations from friends. I also use beads recycled from broken and cast away jewelry.

For years, I have been a dedicated Etsy Lover, a Fair Trade advocate and indigenous artisan liaison. Now that I am a mother it is finally time to open my shop. I hope these creations bring you the same joy as I feel when old, forgotten things become beautiful and relevant once again.

Custom and personalized orders

Custom orders are welcome! Convo me with any questions you have. Though each piece is ooak, I can certainly make sets of items that match one another, or design a piece with a special button of your choice. Lead time will vary and will be discussed upon conversation. Expect a 6 week or less turn around currently for all custom items.

Care instructions

Store jewelry in an airtight container to keep the wire from oxidizing.

If you would like to clean the piece:
{ Use a toothbrush and a small amount of dish soap
{ Gently rub away dirt with water (especially gentle on mother of pearl buttons)

Gift wrapping and packaging

All handmade items are a gift. All my items will be packaged in a gift wrapped box. If you are anything like me, you will want to take a peek before you gift it. So I will make sure to package it so you can relish it before you bestow it upon your loved one.
