An artist's life
I am a painter and collector who started my little shop, Flying Cheerio Studio, with a nostalgia inspired by visits to my grandparents' house. It was a house filled with art, baking and cooking, and friends and relatives all gathering around the kitchen table for coffee, board games, and puzzles. The items that I find for my shop bring back fond memories and seem to transport me to those magical days. I hope you enjoy them, too!
I gradated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in painting and an MFA from Rutger's University. My paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows in and around NYC. After settling down with three kiddos and their entourage of pets, I re-focused my energies to collecting all things vintage. The feeling of nostalgia and remembering things that made childhood so dear has brought a ray of sunshine into some pretty gray days. Fond remembrance does a soul some good and is fundamental to my shop.
I'll sometimes add a painting of my own to the shop but prefer to find vintage hobbyist artworks and paint by numbers. And who can resist vintage stitchwork such as funky and fun crewel embroidery and needlepoint?!
Check out my little shop and come back often to see new finds. And treat yourself to 10% off any purchase with the words THANKYOU.
