I had my furry boy Pinky for nearly 13 years. When we met, he was marked evidence at East Valley Animal Shelter in North Hollywood CA. He had been abandoned, left for 4 or 5 days in an apartment with no food no water, wearing a sweater in September (100+ degrees in the San Fernando Valley). Oh, and he was dyed hot pink. I saw this little pink Pom and I put my hands in the cage and he set his head in my hands and looked me straight in the eyes, my heart melted, I fell immediately and completely in love with him. He really is one of the greatest loves of my life.

He had a cough, (he had many ailments) I found out that he had trachea damage. Collars made him choke and cough, I found that harnesses seemed to work better for him, but what I found were cheaply made, or cut into him, or still put pressure on his neck if I had to pull him back, and besides the function, I couldn't find anything that looked fun and cute and fashionable. Oh, and he hated the sound of Velcro.

I had worked as a Costume Designer and Stylist in LA for all of my adult life. So I took to the drafting table. I drafted many patterns and sewed dozens of prototypes over the first year and half that I had him, and Pink wore them all for me, my little test driver. I can't tell you how many prototypes to took for me to perfect my pattern, (I literally have a big bag of harnesses), but once it was perfected, then I brought it to others. I currently have a patent on it's design.
