My name is Lisa Barnes. Foothill Expressions has been my dream since 1997. I didn’t know at that time what it would become, but I knew it would BE.
After nearly 3 decades in the technology industry as a software developer and project manager, and having raised my 4 children, I am grateful for this opportunity to breathe a little and do something I love. I am excited to create unique handcrafted gifts for you to give to others or keep for yourself! My items are made using top quality materials with meticulous attention to detail. I only sell items that I would be happy to receive myself.
I have a passion for embroidery, sewing, quilting and generally most forms of crafting. I also have an ‘Aloha Spirit’ and my love for the Hawaiian Islands is reflected in most of my products. I recently discovered free standing lace (FSL) and am currently obsessed! Free standing lace is a form of machine embroidery in which the entire design is made from thread on a dissolvable stabilizer, using specific stitch patterns and sequences to wrap the stitched threads around each other so that they hold together without fabric in between the top and bottom threads. I am currently learning how to create my own digitized patterns and as soon I have perfected the technique, I will be sharing these items with you. My head is already spinning with ideas!
