FormaJewelry is taking a short break

Note from shop owner Dear customer,

If you are reading this, it is because you probably have or have had a commission, exchange or repair with me and you haven't heard from me in a while.

It’s been difficult for me to gather strength to write this message, but I have always wanted transparency and closeness to be the values of my work.

The pandemic has affected all of us and for me it has been no less. I was just beginning an antidepressant treatment that my 5-year relationship ended and I was forced move, while I was taking care of a family member. In the meantime, I saw how my business, which I had built with great enthusiasm and effort, was losing its usual turnover, almost completely.

In this climate of instability and uncertainty, I myself began to get sick all the time. I lost my second job. To conclude this year, the Christmas season welcomed us with an outbreak of coronavirus, in which my whole family was infected except me. Some of you probably already know this. We buried my dear grandmother at the end of January.

It is so much that one can humanly endure in a short time... I, who always thought I was “above the law”.

I want to let you know that my absence and lack of response has been a struggle to move forward daily, but I could not even find the strength to get out of bed. Instead I have seen myself going through a paralyzing depression at risk of hospitalization.

The good news is that thanks to the support you have given me, all these years I have been able to afford a mental health treatment and have finally obtained a diagnosis as neurodivergent, which would explain my emotional difficulties since I was born.

Now that I feel able to consider healing, writing to you was the first thing I needed to do.

I apologize for my absence, erratic behavior, lack of response and most of all, because you didn’t received your precious pieces. Those of you who know me know that I am a perfectionist and even in the worst situation did I imagine anything like this. Those of us who don't know each other, I'm very sorry that this was your first experience with me.

I will refund all your orders, those which have not yet been refunded. I think it's an exercise in honesty, given that I don't know how long my recovery is going to take and many of you have been waiting a long time. I know it doesn't make up for the time you've waited and the enthusiasm you had for your new jewelry or special gifts.

For the first time in 5 years, the store will be in vacation mode. This is not goodbye but a see you soon! The FORMALOVE code will be active, so you can reorder the next opening, with a 50% discount.

Thank you for continuing to support me on this new path. And for reading me if you've made it this far.

Each country has a different size system with its correspondences. Unfortunately Etsy only allows to choose one.

You can find a ring size table and its correspondences as a photo included in each ring listing.

If you're not sure, my best recommendation is to go to a jewelry store and ask about your size. A jeweler will take the measurement at no cost and will give you reliable information.

You can also do it at home using a tailor's tape or a strip of paper with which to surround the desired finger and measure its outline in millimeters. In this way you can find the size that corresponds to the length of your circumference.

FORMA jewels are made of copper and will accompany you for years in perfect condition if treated carefully.

Copper is a beautiful metal that transforms its color in contact with oxygen and can leave harmless green spots on your skin. This only happens when the PH of your skin is too acidic.

I have covered each of my pieces with a varnish to avoid these stains. If it wears over time, you can reapply it yourself. You can even use clear nail polish for this.

If your skin tolerates copper in its natural state, you can wear it unsealed to see how its appereance changes.

And to keep the glossy finish, even if it has no varnish, you can rub the jewel with a polishing cloth or a brass brush, both easy to get in hardware or specialized stores.
