Handmade Gifts for Little Ones
Children deserve distinctive clothing that reflects and encourages their imagination and creativity. My products are developed and created with the spirit of childhood in mind. Both everyday clothing and playwear are made to reflect and enhance a child’s natural enthusiasm to play, imagine, and create! Each of my items is handmade with quality craftsmanship.
"CREATIVE BEGINNINGS"
I have been sewing a wide variety of creative projects since childhood. I grew up sewing sitting on my dad's lap at his auto and boat upholstery shop, where he learned to sew from his father as well. During middle and high school, I took a great interest in sewing and expanded my experience. There were some pretty big disasters along the way, which I have photos of stashed in a box somewhere...!
"MY DAY JOB"
As of now, Fox Farm Designs is something I do while my son is napping or in the wee hours of the morning. During college, I majored in Family & Consumer Sciences, previously known as "home economics." I now currently teach a variety of semester courses to students of all abilities in grades 9-12, including clothing and textiles, child development, and culinary arts. Teaching has been a wild ride so far!
"STARTING THE SHOP"
When my nephews and nieces were born, I developed a new interest in sewing children's clothing and play-wear. I began selling at a local farmer's market and soon after I began to use Etsy as a way to sell my creations. In October 2013, my husband and I welcomed our own little one and since then several items have been inspired by my experiences as a new mommy. We live on an old dairy farm in Connecticut, and I make all of the orders personally in my home during any spare time I can find. The items which I design and create showcase my love for food, farm, and family life. My mission is to design items which help to foster imaginative and creative play and meet the needs of each individual child. My creations have many opportunities for personalization and are created with the spirit of childhood in mind. Have a look for yourself!
