Il mio negozio è iniziato molto tempo fa, con un nome completamente diverso e articoli in vendita. Poi le cose sono cambiate e i miei interessi si sono stabilizzati saldamente nella giungla urbana.
Le piante d'appartamento hanno catturato la mia attenzione nel settembre del 2020. Nel bel mezzo di una pandemia, la comunità vegetale è entrata per mantenere questa compagnia estroversa. Un giorno, mentre pulivo una foglia di un polly di alocasia, ho notato quanto fossero belli la forma e i colori. Di recente avevo giocato con la resina UV nel mio studio e mi chiedevo come avrei potuto combinare i due.
Dopo alcuni tentativi ed errori, e un po 'più di errore, ho finito per dipingere la foglia in una lunetta in resina UV. Da lì nuove idee hanno iniziato a volare, e mi sono arrivate nuove creazioni che uniscono il mio desiderio di creare e il mio nuovo amore per le piante. Nasce Grin and Grow.
Sto sempre testando nuovi mezzi e nuovi modi di creare queste bellissime piante, per catturarle veramente in una forma indossabile.
My shop began a long while ago, with an entirely different name and items for sale. Then things changed and my interests settled firmly into the urban jungle.
Houseplants captured my attention in Sept of 2020. In the midst of a pandemic, the plant community came in to keep this extrovert company. One day while cleaning a leaf of an alocasia polly, I noticed how lovely the shape and colors were. I had been playing with UV resin in my studio recently and wondered how I could combine the two.
After some trial and error, and a bit more error, I ended up painting the leaf in a UV resin bezel. From there new ideas started to fly, and new creations came to me combining my desire to create and my new found love of plants. Grin and Grow was born.
I'm always testing new mediums and new ways of creating these beautiful plants, to truly capture them in a wearable form.
