Where Old Meets New...
It all began by creating gifts for dancers in my thesis choreography for my Masters degree in dance. This developed into a true passion and craving for the nostalgia. The nostalgia of where these watch parts once were, and how they can be re-invented accentuating how special they really are.
My grandfather's old pocketwatch sparked the start of my steampunk inspired jewelry. I have always been drawn to old photos, my grandmother's jewelry, and my love of clothing and accessories. I work to create pieces that I would love to wear! Pieces are created with a touch of femininity with chain and jewels, but combine with tough and gritty elements like gears, leather, and the use of mixed metals. Each piece is handmade, original, and truly special.
A small space in my living room in Honolulu has been designated as my 'design table'. What started as a small box of pieces, quickly turned into a much larger collection! The contributions of family sending great finds from their area, as well as my husband researching and finding watch parts has made Fragmented TIme a family and friend affair.
I have recently begun to take part in local events and have been featured in online publishings. What is wonderful about this is the ability to talk to my customers personally and contribute to the revival of handmade and locally made products.
Mahalo for your interest in Fragmented Time. Thank you for checking out my story, and you are always welcome to contact me.
