THE DETAILS
I'm Anna. I am a one woman show that owns, designs, and makes all the creations for Slow Poke Jewelry. When I am not making jewelry, I work full time as a Behavior Health Specialist in a psychiatric hospital.
Ever since I was little, I've been caught making things from scratch. Whether it was a backpack made out of a cereal box, a playground for ants, or clothes for my Barbies made out of socks and tissues, I was always coming up with something to keep my little hands busy. I tried to experiment with as many materials as I could. My freshman year of college, I took a metalsmith class. After that, I was hooked. I worked my butt off and saved up money to buy all the tools and supplies to start metalsmithing, as well as buy beautiful gemstones that I always gawked at in mineral stores. I read multiple books, watched over 100 videos, and had many failed attempts before I got the hang of everything. With that being said, the majority of the techniques I use are self taught. Every day I am learning something new! I strive to make beautiful, wearable art that not just other people would wear, but I would also wear myself. My inspirations come from nature and textiles, and my work reflects that.
Please be kind and patient with me. I am human and I make mistakes. I am happy to work with you regarding any issues you may have, so please contact me before leaving any negative feedback.
