The Creative Journey of a Chronic Daydreamer ….
I've always had an active imagination, ever since I was a little girl. Imagining the impossible, I would often get lost in my own little world for hours. For some, this may seem like a waste of time, but I like to believe that anything is possible and, after years of daydreaming, I am finally able to turn my dreams into reality.
In 2014 I began exploring my own inner life, thoughts, and feelings through a 52 week self-portrait project. In that sense, this body of work is very personal, almost like a visual diary. Each image tells a story and I illustrate those stories by compositing various images, then adding subtle layers of texture to create a painterly look.
This series is only available as limited editions and my hope is to turn this body of work into a coffee table book to illustrate my creative journey. If you are interested in following my work, please stop by my blog page where I write about the inspirations behind each image. www.daniellafishburne.com/blog/
My work is about finding beauty in darkness and seeing the light when there is none. With these images, I hope to inspire, uplift, and evoke emotion. I want you to linger in the worlds I create, until a passion is ignited - leaving you believing in the impossible.
