As a child I was already a collector. Stamps, letterbox stuff, stones, perfume bottles, shells, you name it. I enjoyed putting together a harmonious collection, but I could also fall in love with a "loner" a weird figurine or a beautiful bottle. I still enjoy collecting that. I always try to fish the curses out of the porridge and it makes me very happy when I succeed again.
I love making still lifes. In my house you will find always changing exhibitions of my (latest) finds
I don't think it's a problem that something is second-hand, on the contrary. It is beautiful when something has stood the test of time, albeit completely cool, albeit with the necessary traces of use. The latter can even ensure that an object gets more character, becomes more interesting. Moreover, in my way of consuming, buy nothing new, I hope to keep the ever-growing mountain of waste in check a little bit.
The fact that I started on Etsy is a logical consequence of my collecting frenzy and my idea that the more stuff is reused, the better it is for our world.
I hope that with the Funky, mostly 60s and 70s, offer from my Etsy shop I can convince others that second-hand items are not rubbish but true gifts from the past.

Als kind was ik al een verzamelaar. Postzegels, letterbak spulletjes, stenen, parfumflesjes, schelpen, noem maar op. Ik vond het leuk een harmonieuze collectie samen te stellen, maar kon ook verliefd worden op een "eenling" een raar beeldje of een mooie fles. Dat verzamelen doe ik nog steeds met veel plezier. Ik probeer altijd de krentjes uit de pap te vissen en ik wordt er heel blij van als dat weer lukt.
Ik houd ervan om stillevens te maken. In mijn huis vind je dan ook altijd wisselende exposities van mijn (laatste) vondsten
Dat iets tweedehands is vind ik geen probleem, integendeel. Het is juist mooi als iets de tand des tijds heeft doorstaan, zij het helemaal gaaf, zij het met de nodige gebruikssporen. Dat laatste kan er zelfs voor zorgen dat een voorwerp meer karakter krijgt, interessanter wordt. Bovendien hoop ik op mijn manier van consumeren, buy nothing new, de steeds maar groeiende afvalberg een klein beetje in toom te houden.
Dat ik op Etsy ben begonnen is een logisch gevolg van mijn verzamelwoede en mijn idee dat, hoe meer spullen hergebruikt worden, hoe beter dat voor onze wereld is.
Ik hoop dat ik met het Funky, meest 60s en 70s, aanbod van mijn Etsy shop anderen ervan kan overtuigen dat tweedehands artikelen geen rotzooi zijn maar ware cadeautjes uit het verleden.
