From Clay to Pixels: The Story Behind FusionMM
I'm a ceramic artist, but FusionMM didn't begin with clay.
When I first thought about opening an Etsy shop, I found myself choosing between two very different paths. I could create and sell ceramics - a medium I already knew and loved - or I could try something completely new: digital art.
Ceramics felt natural to me, but there was one practical problem: shipping fragile pieces around the world. I worried about broken packages and complicated international shipping. Digital art, on the other hand, could travel much more easily.
There was just one problem - I had to learn Photoshop.
So I chose the unfamiliar path and started experimenting.
The first product I created was a minimalist custom city map. Then came personalized pet portraits, and suddenly the orders started coming in. That was the moment I realized FusionMM was becoming more than just an experiment or a hobby. It was becoming a real business.
Over the years, I continued to follow my curiosity instead of limiting myself to one style or category. I experimented with different kinds of wall art, personalized pieces, vintage images and unexpected ideas.
Eventually, I began working with vintage and old paintings, transforming familiar scenes into something new. I loved the idea that an image with one history could be given another story — sometimes funny, sometimes surreal, sometimes completely unexpected.
That spirit of experimentation is still at the heart of FusionMM.
I never set out with a perfect plan to become a wall art seller. FusionMM grew one idea at a time — from a ceramic artist learning Photoshop, to custom maps and pet portraits, to a collection of art shaped by curiosity, experimentation and the belief that art doesn't always have to stay the way we expect it to be.
Seven years later, I'm still experimenting, still learning, and still wondering: what else could this become?
