My creations are an expression of my Yogic Life Style.
Many of my Facebook fans who had been following my creative posts nudged me for good two years before I opened my GPyoga shop on Etsy in late February 2010.
The start was slow since I had only a few items in my shop.
I actually didn't visit my shop for an entire year.
Then, in 2011, one of my clients asked me to make BAREFOOT SANDALS for her wedding in Haiti. We agreed on feathers, with a lot of bright colors and it had to make a statement. Thus, the Peacock Feathers saw the light of day.
Many designs for barefoot sandals-(soleless shoes-foot jewelry-toe/ankle wraps-bottomless shoes) have been created since then; all by myself.
Hats started by my frustration that none of the hats in stores would flatter me and feel good to keep on.
Also, I wasn't fond of wearing a turban during my Kundalini practice, where your head is supposed to be covered for protection. I had to come up with something chic, comfortable and more casual....and then share it.
My grandma taught me knitting and crocheting techniques at the age of 7.
No patterns or manual have been ever used. I engineered every knit/crochet item on my own.
I love using reclaimed materials to get even more creative; leg warmers, fingerless gloves, mini skirts-bootie covers, utility belts to name a few.
....and I think I'll have to continue at another time.
Lights out ;-)
