Galarples

Also Galarples. Ein alberner Name und eine lustige Geschichte.

Ich bin von Natur aus sparsam. Ich liebe es, jeden Dollar zu sparen, wann immer ich kann. Ich liebe Secondhand-Läden und Hofverkäufe. Oh ja. Ich bin da. Vor vielen Monden hatte eine Dame online diese handgefertigten Artikel, die meine Tochter einfach liebte, und bat mich, sie zu kaufen. Ich war verblüfft, wie viel sie kosteten und wie schwer sie zu kaufen waren. Diese kleinen Jungs waren so schnell ausverkauft! Ich beschloss, dass ich dann häkeln musste. Ich brachte es mir selbst bei; Stunden und Stunden, in denen ich frustriert war, als ich Häkelmuster betrachtete, ohne eine Ahnung davon zu haben, was ich tat. Oh, es war schmerzhaft. Eines Tages peitschte ich mein allererstes Rundenobjekt auf und nannte es (mit Hilfe eines Freundes) "Galarple!" Es war nicht schön. Es war wirklich nicht einmal rund. Aber es war. Ich hatte etwas geschaffen. Schau mich an, geh.
Ich spuckte im Laufe der Jahre weiterhin "rundliche" Objekte aus, bis ich ein eigenes Muster hatte, dem ich folgen konnte. Und die meiste Zeit kann ich jetzt das machen, was ich mir erhoffe. Das Geheimnis ist... Kann ich es zweimal machen?
Die Galarples haben sich von einfachen runden Monstern zu Kreaturen mit eigenem Leben entwickelt. Sie haben Persönlichkeit und Namen. Einige sind einzigartig, andere bleiben für immer dabei. Sie sind zu Party-Gefälligkeiten, Strumpffüllern und lebenslangen Freunden geworden.
Jeder kleine Kerl wird mit Liebe und Sorgfalt gemacht. Ich verpacke sie sorgfältig und verabschiede mich unter Tränen mit dem Beginn ihrer Reisen ins Unbekannte. Ich hoffe, dass du deine neuen Freunde genauso liebst wie ich!
Was hält die Zukunft für den Galarpel bereit? Ich denke, wir müssen alle einfach abwarten und sehen. :)

So Galarples. A silly name and a fun story.

I am thrifty by nature. I love to save a buck any time I can. I love thrift stores and yard sales.. oh yes. I am there. Many moons ago a lady online had these handmade items that my daughter just loved, and asked me to buy. I was flabbergasted at how much they cost and how hard they were to purchase. These little guys sold out so fast! I decided then I needed to crochet. I taught myself; hours and hours of getting frustrated looking at crochet patterns with no clue as to what I was doing. oh it was painful. one day I whipped up my very first round object and dubbed it (with the help of a friend) "Galarple!" it wasn't pretty. It really wasn't even round. But it was. I had created something. Look at me go.
I continued spitting out "round-ish" object over the years, until I had a pattern of my own to follow. And most of the time, now, I can make what I hope for. The secret is... can I do it twice?
The Galarples have evolved from just being simple round monsters, to creatures, with life of their own. They have personality and names. Some are one of a kind, some stay around forever. They have become party favors, stocking stuffers, and life long friends.
Every little guy Is made with love and care. I package them carefully and tearfully bid them adieu with the begin their journeys into the unknown. I hope that you love your new friends as much as I do!
What does the future hold for the Galarple? I guess we'll all just have to wait and see. :)
