I fold metal sheets into intricate origami jewelry
For twenty five years I was a civil servant. Seven years ago I retired, and decided to become an origami artist.
Since then I have created more than 200 original paper models.
A few years later, I met Gal Gaon, a design gallery owner, who introduced me to the design world. Since paper is not a medium suitable for stable, sturdy structures, I started exploring the wide variety of other available materials, including clay, fabrics, leather, metal, wood, and lately even glass.
Most of my metal origami is large in scale, as compared to the paper models. Up to seven meters high, and up to 47 meters long, my works are displayed in Amsterdam, Texas, Beijing, Houston, Monaco, Milan and New York, to name a few.
My jewelry collection, some of which is seen here, focuses on smaller scale items, including earrings, necklaces, rings and pendants.
Unlike any other method, my origami jewelry are folded. Because of that, I am able to give them a truly unique shine, as a result of polishing each piece while the metal sheet is still flat. Furthermore, my folded pendants can be worn two ways, with each side displaying a different visual landscape.
