Our Love and Devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary was the Inspiration for Gems of Mary
Gems of Mary is a mother-daughter endeavor, inspired by their mutual love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In their home, a small altar was set-up where the family gathered to pray the Rosary in the evenings and on Good Fridays they begin their Chaplet Novenas culminating on Divine Mercy Sunday, for the 9th day of the Novena followed by Holy Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Liz has been making custom made jewelry for years and she has many requests to make "Decade Rosaries" for friends and relatives. She is also fond of giving Gemstone Decade Rosaries as gifts .. Liz always thought of having a religious jewelry shop but her ideas never came to fruition as her time was invested with the Ethereal Energy Shop and TruffleMint Shop, both on Etsy. Prayerful as ever, she prayed for guidance on the lingering thoughts of creating a shop with a collection of beautiful and unique Catholic Religious Jewelry, unlike what one normally see in Religious shops…something created by her hands, artisan work. With her mother's mutual interest, who shares the same dream and enthusiasm…Gems of Mary was conceived. Their background and passion for handcrafting jewelry, designing wearables and anything creative lend to the ease in making it a reality further bolstered with the strong desire to share a portion of whatever they make to Catholic Religious organizations. Within 24 hours, Maria started the ball rolling…setting up an email account, opened an Etsy shop and social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. This was followed by attending the International Gem Show to purchase gemstones and findings.
They both decided on creating and handcrafting Decade Rosaries…Pocket, Tenner and Rosary Bracelets as well as necklaces with religious themes. One of the most interesting and unique idea for a Pocket Rosary was the use of leather to string gemstones, using the same high quality gemstones as seen in the Energy Jewelry that Liz designed under the banner of Ethereal Energy. As member of The Artisan Group, Liz had participated in the GBK Oscars 2013 Gift Lounge, gifting celebrities and presenters at the Academy Awards with her stunning gemstone energy bracelets. Recently, Liz participated in the GBK Press & Media Golden Globes 2014 Gift Lounge. She also submitted her designs for consideration to the Stylists of The Vampire Diaries, The Voice and The Bachelorette.
Nina Dobrev, the main character for The Vampire Diaries wore her Carnelian Bronze Leaf Earrings at the 506 Episode of TVD on CW TV Network last November 2013.
Their goal is to provide unique and beautiful Catholic Religious products to inspire prayers and devotions, specially praying the Holy Rosary that our Blessed Mother loves. Gems of Mary will provide Decade Rosaries that is easy to carry or wear at all times….inspirational gemstone Rosaries to Tenner pocket rosaries made of Olive wood beads that comes directly from Nazareth, the birthplace of our Lord, Jesus. They will also provide a collection for First Communicants, Confirmation and Wedding accessories and gifts as well as jewelry with religious themes.
