About GerwareCeramics

On Etsy since 2013

Using handmade dishes often creates a moment to gather, sit, eat, and talk that may not otherwise exist.

I made my very first pinch pot in Kindergarten and have been working with clay ever since. I started making pottery seriously in High School and went on to earn a BFA in ceramics from the University of Iowa and an MFA from the University of North Texas. I'm currently an artist and educator working in Milwaukee, WI

GerWare Ceramics is the lovechild of my long-standing adoration of functional ceramics. My pots are inspired by mid-century design and retro prints. I use the pottery wheel and hand-building to create one-of-a-kind designs. Each piece is decorated using a monotype printing process with underglazes, giving each piece a uniquely distressed look. I am committed to making usable work that turns daily routines into daily rituals. Using handmade dishes often creates a moment to gather, sit, eat, and talk that may not otherwise exist.

Are these items dishwasher safe?

They are, however, I recommend hand-washing to maintain the longevity of each piece.
