What's the difference between a wooden wick and a cotton wick?
A cotton wick is like those you usually see in candles. They are easy to light and easy to maintain. I use an all-natural, cotton wick {no zinc, lead or other metals found in these!} that are coated in beeswax. They are lovely and simple.
Wooden wicks, on the other hand, take a bit more care, but they do offer an ambiance and atmosphere that is a bit different than a run-of-the-mill cotton wick. They crackle like a mini-fireplace! You do need to keep them trimmed at about 1/8 inch in order for them to burn correctly. I include a care card with each wooden wick candle I send out so can get the most out of your wood-wick candle!
How do I care for my wood-wick candle?
Keep the wick trimmed down to 1/8 inch. I have them trimmed for you when I send them out, so you don't have to worry about the first light, but with ever subsequent re-light, make sure it's trimmed! You can use a wick trimmer, or, as I like to do, simply break off the burnt edges before relighting.
What if I put in the wrong address when checking out?
