Giggly Turtle Illustration is home to everything I create from small, character-led pieces to the wider world of The Whimsy Nook.
The Whimsy Nook began as something I needed when I was going through a really dark time with my mental health. Drawing gave me a way to slow my thoughts down and make sense of things when my head felt too full. That hasn’t changed and it’s still where a lot of this work comes from.
Over time, I realised I didn’t want to separate that from the rest of what I make. My illustrations are also shaped by where I live, the beautiful county of Norfolk, with its wildlife, and its strange, often overlooked folklore. You’ll see that woven through cards, bookmarks, and characters alike.
Some pieces are light, some are a bit odd, some carry more feeling behind them but all of them are made by hand, by me, in Norfolk.
If something here makes you pause, smile, or feel a little more understood, then it’s doing its job.

5 out of 5 starsWe ordered two personalised Nooklings. Our children (9 and 6) loved being able to choose their own colours and boat theme, so were very excited for their Nooklings to arrive. When they arrived, the packages were beautifully presented. The kids really enjoyed opening them and finding all the different notes…and, of course, the super cute Nooklings. It’s given the children a lovely introduction to the Whimsy Nook and both the imagery and the concept has landed really well with them. They’re looking forward to exploring further!
