This shop, in a nutshell.
Welcome to Palette House Prints! This shop has been reopened, renamed, and re-envisioned (originally Gild My World Designs) after a nearly 3 year hiatus. In my youth I took extensive visits to dozens of college and university towns throughout the US, and was always enamored by each campus' unique energy and personality. This sense of awe has stayed with me for many years, as I continue to seek out college campuses in the places I travel, hoping to get a glimpse of the life and architecture of each place.
This particular series of designs started with a Christmas gift given to my parents years ago, a simple print highlighting the simple beauty of the small town I grew up in (see the listing for "Boiling Springs, PA"). Afterward, I made a similar print for my own home featuring my alma mater (see "Charlottesville, VA // University of Virginia). This was the spark I needed to inspire a new creative project: making designs that feature college towns all over the country. I admittedly still have a long way to go to create a fully comprehensive list of places, but I plan to steadily grow my portfolio every week.
Each print highlights several key landmarks that make each campus and town unique. Any proud townie, captivated visitor, eager student, or wistful alum may appreciate the sentiments these pieces have to offer. All designs are made by me, Steph, starting with a cup of coffee and blank canvas on my home computer. Please DM me if you want your college town moved toward the top of my "to-do" list.
