Glass To Size - A happy accident.
During the beginning of the pandemic I couldn't go to dog shows where I could sell my Puppy Paws Jewelry. I'd been making and selling Puppy Paws for 20 years and without that income I couldn't pay off my debts.
So I did the next best thing . . . I listing sell "pieces and parts" and stuff leftover from my Puppy Paws on Etsy.
I had about 150, 8 x 10 pieces of glass from a leftover display. I threw those online.
They sold out.
Then came the requests. . . Do you have 5 x 7s, 4 x 5s, etc. I started haunting garage sales to see what I could find. A lot of it had scratches and I am VERY picky so I could only use some of what I found.
At the same time I saw on Nextdoor (a neighbor app) that someone was giving away a lot of stain glass equipment and glass. I jumped on it and after lugging 6 boxes filled with things I had no idea how to use to the basement I was ready. I calculated the value was just over $1,000, found a glass cutting class and started.
Now I buy my glass from Home Depot.
My philosophy is that you can teach an old dog after all!!
