My studio is my happy place and making quilts is my truest joy.
I have always had to make things and have been sewing since I was fifteen years old. Creating has been a constant source of joy, discovery, and curiosity in my life. There is something special about taking a pile of fabric and turning it into a treasure that will last to be used by this generation and the next.
There is something special about a quilt in general and as soon as I made my first one, I was hooked. The mix of color, the play of multiple patterns and shapes, the lightweight warmth, the texture created by the thousands of quilting stitches. I love taking bits of seemingly unconnected fabrics and mixing and piecing them together to create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind new whole. Every quilt I make is a little different than the last and all are made by me in my home studio. I love bright, happy fabrics, whimsical patterns, and unique textures and love to try something a little different.
All of my items are made one at a time, with the utmost care and careful construction. Everything in my shop is an easy care, made-for-real life item that can be tossed in the wash as needed. I want the quilt you get from my shop to last to be treasured for years and to only get better and softer with age.
When I am not quilting, I work as an intensive care nurse. In some indescribable way, quilting makes me a better nurse, and nursing makes me a better quilter. One day I hope to be able to put this concept into words. The truth is, I still wake up overjoyed that I get to spend my day creating beautiful things for people to love and share with another. No matter whether I am quilting or nursing, I get to give a little piece of myself to my work, and that is the greatest gift.
