Ever heard of an oboe player who LOVES to make reeds?

Meet LK. When she started learning to make reeds at age 14, her parents were VERY concerned. At one point she had a band-aid on every finger. But she knew--no matter how it looked to anyone else--that this was COOL. And that she wanted to be AWESOME at it.

20 years later, LK is a full-time professional oboist, and she still loves to make reeds! Along the way, she collected the knowledge of gouging machine setup and repair, instrument maintenance and repair, the intricacies and effects of staples and shapes, and much more. She loves that there is no end to the way the different variables of reed making can be balanced to create difference results.
