Middens? Who ever heard of a Midden?
My name is Denell and I am a life long Floridian. For me, lifelong means just shy of 60 years! Sheesh, where has the time gone?! I called the east coast, in Broward county, home until 3 years ago when we moved to the west coast of Florida and I am loving it here. A self described and proud maximalist, I have decided to share my treasure hunting bounty with others and that means you!!
If you inexplicably love stuff as much as I do, you will love my shop. My maximalist lifestyle also means occasionally cycling things OUT to make way for the new.
At my Good Middens shop you will find some of my own well cared for items as well as some newly discovered and well loved vintage goodies that I cannot resist rescuing.
This has not always been an impulse I could justify ...... until now.
Moving forward I will be doing it for the person who is yearning for the nostalgia of years gone by or the person who prefers the weird & unusual over the mass produced.
I"ll be doing it for those who value the patina, quality & craftsmanship frequently attributed to many vintage items and for those who simply don't have the time or desire to invest in the hunt.
Or, maybe - just maybe, you are the person who isn't looking for anything at all and didn't even realize you needed 'THAT' until you saw it here... (Don't tell the others but, you are my favorite!!)
These are the justifications I've been waiting for and I am very excited about it but, please do not let my brand new shop scare you.
I can do this. And Im going to do it well.
I have been a shopper on Etsy for 15 years and a customer in general for more than 50, so
I know what good customer service is. I will always be honest & transparent with you.
I'll begin loading my shop with listings this second week of February 2026. Please be patient.
My inventory will be increasing quickly as I get things up and running in spite of the fact that tech is my arch enemy so Check back often!

And - Oh Yeah :
A Midden Is an old dump of domestic waste (sounds yucky when you look at it like that) but it is also defined as a mound of artifacts associated with past human occupations. For an archeologist this can be a wealth of information about how people lived by studying what they threw away.
But for the red squirrel, a Midden is a central food storage area and feeding station (very valuable) which is often raided by other critters passing thru. The squirrel is actually helping many in its efforts to hoard an overabundance of food for itself.
Any way you look at it, many can benefit from what the MIddens have to offer.
