A Creative Hobby Turned Shop
Goodsmith started as a creative hobby. After a brief stint working for a wood mill when I was younger, I learned how to use woodworking tools and machinery to make custom pieces. Working there gave me an insight into how much wood gets discarded and never used. It became a hobby to find ways to use the discarded pieces (offcuts) to make little wooden boxes and plant holders. I had to get creative to use the more odd-shaped offcuts and eventually started making little air plant holders.
Plants bring so much life to any space. I hope to continue making these little planters and filling spaces with more and more green, while encouraging the use of reclaimed wood.

I've always been conscious of the environment and encourage the use of only reclaimed and recycled materials. All of my products are made with reclaimed wood from torn-down buildings in the Los Angeles area, wood salvage yards or offcuts from a local woodworking company.

Our mission at Goodsmith is to create beautiful and unique wood pieces while being mindful of how our business impacts the planet. To that end, each piece is made using only reclaimed wood and painted by hand. In an effort to achieve complete balance, we also donate a portion of our sales so that a new tree is planted for every single planter purchased.
