This bag took a couple weeks to arrive, and was decidedly NOT leather. But for five bucks? I got a great shoulder bag that looks real nice and I'm not mad at that.

Looks better in the picture and the fringe ripped easily. I also didn't get any shipping notification until after I received the item.

when I first got it, was a little confusd on how to use it. It seemed either really short shoulder strap or really long, so I finally just tied it in the spot I wanted it in. It also came with a hole in the bottom of the bag with the black cloth, not the knitting, but it hasn't been a huge problem yet. I'll just stitch it up, but it's worked well so far. Thanks!
Parlor City Vintage - Upcycled Apparel is the Future of Fashion Design
Parlor City Vintage is a new venture that was inspired by my love for vintage clothing, fashion blogging, design, photography, and my hometown. The premise is to take discarded clothing from other eras and transform them to reflect the trends of today. Because of where the majority of materials are sourced, all of my designs are considered eco-friendly.
I thrift for pieces that others might consider ugly or outdated but contain design elements that have been recycled into a modern trend and then get to work on the alterations. Sometimes I add new fabrics or trims, but other times a simple hem or sleeve alteration does the trick. All of my pieces are one of a kind.
My source clothing gets a brand new life, and I hope that my designs can also metaphorically represent my city's struggle to revitalize despite constant economic and natural disaster. The Parlor City was once a bustling metropolis on the forefront of manufacturing, with its nickname derived from its appearance of neat streets and homes and stately mansions overlooking the river.
Owner, Designer, Photographer
I graduated from Kent State University in 2010 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and have since settled back into my hometown of Binghamton, NY. My designs are modern interpretations of vintage pieces made from actual upcycled clothing.
