What color is the background?
Granite City Graphics sells single color computer cut vinyl decals, which means that the background is removed leaving only the image. They are applied with an application tape and give the appearance of being painted on when applied. Only the decal image pieces will remain on the surface. We use the same vinyl material that is used for outdoor signs and vehicle graphics with outdoor durability of seven years.
Printed decals-
With printed decals, I'm able to print any image onto vinyl (up to 24" wide). Most printed decals have a solid back. I'm able to laminate printed decals to extend the outdoor life of the print and even giving you the ability to wash with a pressure washer and not damage the vinyl. Vinyl not laminated will last up to 3 years outdoors while laminated will help the print last up to 5+ years.
What is a vinyl cut out decal?
Vinyl cut out decals are cut on a roll of sign vinyl.
Can vinyl be removed?
Yes, with a little elbow grease and a heat gun they should peel right off.
Will vinyl hurt the paint?
At the most, some sun fading can occur if the graphics are left on for a few years.
How long will they last?
Usually 5-10 years depending on the type of vinyl used.
How do you size decals? Is the size listed the width or the height?
The size for each decal is listed on the product page. The first number in the size is the decal at it's smallest point.
A decal's height will be listed first then it's width. Adding text to a decal will change the overall dimensions. Any text you enter is included in the size of the decal, which may slightly reduce the size of the artwork.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Decal orders are mailed out daily, Monday through Friday, cut off time is at noon. Orders received after noon will be scheduled to mail out the next business day.
How is my order shipped?
All orders are shipped United States Postal Service.
How much is shipping?
Shipping amount is based on the order weight.
Can I put my decal on the inside of the window?
By default, the decals are cut to be applied to the outside. If you want the decals reverse cut for inside application, please select that option on the shopping cart summary page before proceeding with the check out process.
Do you offer different sizes than the ones listed?
If a size that you need is not listed, or if you need the decal cut to fit within a certain size area, please order the closest size and add a note in the Order Notes on the shopping cart summary page. Please provide a valid email address or phone number so that we can contact you if we have any questions. Our decals are not stock decals, we custom cut each decal order that we receive. You may also send an email if you have questions about sizing.
Do you make custom decals?
If you are looking for a design not posted to our website or would like changes made to an existing design, please send your request via email to granitecitygraphics [!at] gmail.com.
Do you have other colors than the ones listed?
If you need a color not listed, please make a note in the Order Notes box on the shopping cart summary page when you place the order. If we have the color, we will process the order. If we don't have the color, you will be contacted by email or by phone.
Will my rear window defroster or wiper blade hurt the decal
The rear window defroster will not hurt the decal. The defroster does not get hot enough to melt the vinyl. If you have a rear window windshield wiper and you may want to apply the decal in the top center or in a corner out of reach of the wiper blade as the decal may start to peel in the small detailed areas and will also wear your blade out if you use it a lot.
Do you make multi-color decals?
Yes. The decals that we sell are single color vinyl cut out decals. The multi-color decals will be cut separately. You will need to apply each color to create the look of a two color decal.
Can I design my own decal?
You can enter any special instructions about the size, text or layout and design of your order in the Order Notes box on the shopping cart summary page. Please provide a valid email address or phone number so that we can contact you if we have any questions.
I only need lettering. Where can I order a text decal without any artwork?
You can order text decals by emailing us. These decals are sized by the width of each line. If you have special size or design instructions, please enter those in the Order Notes box on the shopping cart preview page. You will be able to add notes to your order after you add the item to your shopping cart.
How will I know when my order has shipped?
