When life gets rough...turn it around
When my husband of 32 years suddenly and unexpectedly died I knew that I was going to need to make more money than my 9 to 5 job provided me to survive. I knew that I could sew. I majored in Costume Design in college and have been sewing since I was about 8 years old, making my own clothes and clothes for my dolls. I had found a Paul McCartney tshirt from an old concert I had gone to and never really wore. Anyone who buys a tshirt at a concert these days know they go for at least $40. I decided to make something out of it that I would use. I made a hobo bag and used it constantly. People would stop me and ask where I got my bag.....so cool! So, I started making bags out of old tshirts and upcycled jeans, curtains, etc, sold them at local craft fairs and farmer's markets, and Grateful Threads was born. All of my bags are made by me. I only upcycle licensed tshirts and do not alter or change the images on the shirts in any way. I am not affiliated with any artist or item that appear on my bags. My bags are one of a kind and I do not mass market them.
