    About

Crafting Green is what it's all about in the Studio

I know it sounds like a cliche, but believe me its not! I really am all about crafting green-wise.

And, filling custom orders is where every new search for green-wise material begins. I see it as a great adventure to seek out that very special, sometimes vintage, find. Whether its previous life was as a table cloth, pillowcase or lovely dress w/a worn hem, it will now become your very own one-of-a-kind handbag or apron or gift bag, etc., etc.

Another way I love to craft my goodies for you is by painting my own design on a piece of fabric. You will see some photographs of my painted aprons in this 'About' section, but be sure to check the studio listings frequently as these change often.

Here's a little background information on the artist in me:
--My Grandmother taught me to sew by hand when I was 5 years old. She and mom were always busy making things like dresses, costumes, or curtains and I watched every step of the way. (I learn best from watching.)
--By age 10, I had my very first sewing machine and began making my own clothing. (I was very tiny and nothing in the stores off the rack would fit me.) I am one of three girls born in my family, but I am the one with the sewing gene.
--When I was a teenager, I recall watching as my mom created awesome costumes for a band of musicians (think 60's and Elvis jumpsuits). I was enthralled from that moment forward with what could be accomplished with a little know how and a sewing machine.

Many years after my husband and I left our 9 to 5 jobs in the city, we relocated to the rural community of Ellijay, Georgia. We have been entrepreneurs ever since we came here, and in 2012, I was introduced to a little co-op business for artists in Ball Ground, Georgia. I began crafting and selling. My purses were a big hit!

In no time, I realized I needed an inexpensive way to get supplies to keep my craft going. Local thrift stores became my favorite hangouts. Each time I sold items in the co-op, I'd reinvest the money into supplies. I followed that motto for the first year and before long, I had accumulated a huge stash from which to create. I shop for mostly neutral items, and the very unusual, and always I go for natural fibers. Occasionally, I paint my own fabrics, creating very unique materials for my craft. I am always receiving donated goods from which to create. I am very grateful that my craft has led me down this Green-wise path.

In 2013, I joined Etsy and the rest is yet to be written. (Becca has a blog on Wordpress.com. To read more from the artist go to: http://beccasgreencraftstudio.com/)

    Coming for Spring 2015:

I try to add NEW items weekly. Ultimately, my goal is to add a new item each day, until I reach 200 items for sale. So check back often.

Welcome to my online shop with Etsy! The only place you can get my items online!
It's all about being GREEN. The shop motto is all about reducing any negative impact to our environment; I do my best to make my environmental FOOTPRINT tiny.
That is why the shop is named: Green Craft Studio.
    Learn more here: https://beccasgreencraftstudio.com.

Currently, all products are original pieces created by me, Becca Shuler--the owner/operator of GreenCraftStudio and Rebecca's ReCreations (the original design label for my bag/purse line).

Most items in the shop are made GREENWISE. I craft in this fashion because I want to do everything in my power to change my corner of planet earth. Materials for my products come mostly from community donation stores. Each item is fully laundered and then re-purposed whether it be clothing or linens like pillowcases, tablecloths, formal gowns, etc.

And did I say that I LOVE creating SPECIAL items for special PEOPLE in your life, so please contact ME for any special requests. And so you know, I am not totally against purchasing NEW fabrics for special items, although I try hard to avoid the big box stores when doing so. This means that special items usually cost more to produce, so be aware they will cost you more to purchase in the end.

Collaborating w/other creative minds is my favorite pass time when I'm not drawing, designing, shopping or sewing. So, if you have an idea for a product (ie: your perfect purse), let's talk about it.

Any questions? Please do not hesitate to reach out. Simply select CONTACT to open up a dialogue for conversation, ask a question, give me feedback, tell me what you are up to, and if you have a specific item you can't seem to locate in my shop but love my style of products, I will consider creating something NEW just for you.

    Becca

PS If you wonder about the shipping costs or need clarification, please read my policies before you ask for clarification. I know I haven't covered everything here or in my policies, so please do not hesitate to ask.

I look forward to doing business with you.

    Payment

I accept Paypal. You DO NOT have to have an account with Paypal to pay thru paypal, just simply use your credit or debit card. If you need a different form of payment such as using a personal check or money order, just convo me and we can discuss it. Our items will be shipped in 1 to 3 business days after payment has been cleared. Please allow 7-10 days from time payment clears to process a custom order.
    Shipping
When packaging your items to ship them, I double check all of my work. I also carefully package your items, so they will arrive to you in the same manner I packaged them. I am responsible for your package until it reaches the post office. After that, I cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged items. That's why it's a very good idea to purchase insurance on your package if its delicate. It's relatively inexpensive.
You can get up to $50 insurance for around $2.00. Be sure to message me BEFORE you purchase, and I will gladly adjust shipping cost to include insurance.

    Shipping: DOMESTIC & INTERNATIONAL

All items marked "READY TO SHIP" will ship in 1 to 3 business days.

Your CUSTOM ORDER purchase will take longer to process, but will ship in 7 to 10 business days if at all possible.

USPS First Class is first choice for shipping light weight and small items like small purses, aprons, and gift items.

If an item weighs more than 16 ounces, it ships USPS Priority Mail.

Shipping costs always include packaging materials, postal charge and a tracking number. SHIPPING costs DO NOT include the cost to INSURE your item(s) from damage. If you would like to purchase insurance, please contact me prior to your order placement, so I can add the cost to the order listing or at least quote you a cost. At the very least add a note to your order at time of purchase and expect to receive a note for the additional cost and know that another payment transaction must take place BEFORE the insurance can be added to the order processing.

Guaranteed deliveries through the USPS always require a signature, which means: the post office will keep track of your package until it is delivered and you or someone has signed for it. (The guarantee does not apply to a specific time frame unless otherwise mentioned in The notes during shipment processing.)

PLEASE NOTE that if shipping costs have been estimated incorrectly on the product, you will be refunded any overage above $1. And if shipping estimates are UNDER estimated, you will not be penalized with additional charges.
DISCLAIMER re: INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENT for a country to which I have never shipped: You may incur additional shipping charges at time of shipment. If your shipment requires more than an additional $5 USD to complete, you will be contacted by me via Etsy conversation or private email to notify you of the additional shipping fee to complete the order. It will be your choice to say, 'yes' or 'no' at that time. If you say 'no', the order is cancelled and you will be refunded. (Refunds when using PayPal as payment will be charged the usual PayPal fees and the balance is refunded.)

***Please VERIFY YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS is correct. I cannot be held responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect address.

****INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTS PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING****

International orders DO NOT come with tracking numbers. I will be glad to provide you with the custom form ID numbers which you can use to track your package while it is still in the United States. Once it leaves the US, there is no additional tracking information available.

International residents may be responsible for additional custom fee's or duties depending on your country. Green Craft Studio is not liable for any custom fee's, it is the BUYER'S responsibility.

International orders can take anywhere from 10 to 30 days for delivery. I have no control over packages that may be delayed in customs.

Selling Wholesale: I will consider any request to sell wholesale, discounts will be minimal and according to quantity of items ordered. Delivery of wholesale items will be according to production timeline as the Green Craft Studio does not make a habit of stocking large quantities of any one item. Most items are one of a kind--because I use repurposed materials sometimes there is enough fabric to produce up to three of one style boho bag, but not usually.
