Making stuff into stuff!
My sister Julianne & I love making things. We started with potholders and plaster decoupage, then moved on to sewing our own clothes. We started the concept of GreenWork Handmade together as a place to present our creations. I make the felted bags, dictionary necklaces, and denim totes, as well as some wall art. Julianne is a full time art teacher and is hoping to add a line of great kits that will help you and your kids make things together at home!
The name GreenWork comes from our childhood. Our Dad, Uncle, and Grandpa ran a family funeral home business with two locations: one a white colonial style home, and the other a green woodshingle victorian. When Dad went off to work in the morning, we'd ask him, "Are you going to White Work or Green Work today?" It was evenly mixed, and we thought it would be a fitting tribute to our family's entrepreneurial spirit to carry the nickname through to our enterprise.
We value items made by hand with care. We value conserving resources and love finding creative ways to reuse what some may deem disposable. We value a genuine connection to our family and to you, our community.
