Griftmeter is an AI usage meter for your desk.
Every AI plan has a limit, and every provider will tell you how much of yours is left if you go looking for it. Griftmeter puts that number on a small round screen next to your keyboard: how much of your allowance is gone, and when it comes back. You stop finding out mid-sentence.
It plugs into your computer over USB and reads your usage through a small listener program for Windows, macOS or Linux. There is no Griftmeter account and no subscription, and your usage data stays on your own machine. You buy it once.
It works with Claude (Pro and Max), Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot and Cursor. It does not work with the Anthropic API, which is billed per use and has no ceiling to show a percentage of, and it does not work with a ChatGPT subscription on its own. If you do not use Codex, this is not for you yet. We would rather say that here than refund it later.
The shells are the fun part. Each one is printed in-house and snaps on and off by hand, so you can swap them whenever you like: an old computer terminal, a toaster, a parking meter, a piggy bank, a rubber duck, a cat asleep on a ball of yarn, a graphics card and more. Each shell has its own voice, too. Terminal's lines include SEARCHING FOR CONTEXT and ?OUT OF MONEY ERROR.
