After much searching for the exact right color bow tie, I came across this shop and this bow tie for my son's homecoming outfit... I needed it to match his date's dress and their Vans. Of course by the time I found it the dance was 3 days away. Andy answered my questions right away about getting the bow tie overnighted and it arrived with a day to spare. My workhorse, a 1953 Italian-made Necchi BU Mira.
The quest for the next great fabric is never-ending.
One old-fashioned accessory leads to another.
Ready for business at a local show. I often share space with Etsy seller Toadbriar.

It's OK to dress like a grown up.

When I decided some years ago that I wanted get a real, self-tie bow tie, they were fairly hard to come by and when you did find a source they tended to be quite expensive. I decided to have a go at making one myself... then two, then more.

People began to ask where I had gotten my bow ties, which prompted me to put a few up on Etsy to see what happened. I've been humbled by the response, and it's been fun to be along for the ride as bow ties make a bit of a well-deserved resurgence.
