Groundwork Minerals started the way most rock businesses do: with an overcrowded display cabinet and rapidly disappearing storage space.
Everything I sell is hand-picked by me, generally at in-person shows like Tucson, Franklin, and Spruce Pine. I've been a regular rock show attendee since I was in the third grade, so I know a thing or two about spotting a good deal on a nice specimen. I've also done a bit of digging over the years. My favorite locality is Aurora, North Carolina where I dug my first megalodon tooth in 2003.
The jewelry side came later. I fell in love with a wire-wrapped tourmaline pendant a few years back and never quite recovered. I still have a soft spot for beryl, but I wrap a good number of cabochons as well. Every wrap is done by hand at my bench in Charlotte.
A few promises: locality data is accurate or it's listed as unknown — I don't invent provenance to make a piece sound better. Treatments and repairs are disclosed. Photos are posted without color correction, so what shows up in the box is what you saw on screen. Questions about listings are always welcome.
