My story with mud...
For as long as I can remember, I was always drawing and drawing on any piece of paper which I could ever find, either on the wall or the table when I was listening to a lesson in the class. Following years were the same and I’ve never given up drawing. After working in corporate companies for many years, I decided to try another way. Just at this time, I met the mud and everything has changed. I’m drawing in 3 dimensions now. Moreover colors, patterns, forms, textures, techniques, clays... the diversity of these components fascinates me and drags me after it. I have no complaints at all. I really love being dragged on this road, without knowing where I’m heading to.
What I can say about my work in general is that I don’t like using molds so I never work with molds. I prefer more often free folding and I love wheel-throwing. I imagine, get inspired, work patiently and a strong bond is set between me and what comes out in the end. This gives me the motivation for working harder and dreaming more.
With a smart choice, all is getting done in my 9 square meter home studio which is in the closest location to the kitchen meaning just near by the food and wine stocks! ;)
This process which requires knowledge and patience, is quite difficult and long. Therefore, the ultimate work’s beauty can be mentioned relatively, but its great effort for sure. This is exactly why I give that much importance to packaging. I carefully use the materials such as air bubbled coverages or airboxes due to get it received you in one piece.
By the way, I always use non toxic and food safe glaze for tableware
