Romantic Vintage
I have always had a passion for things that have a romantic vintage look. From the time I was in my twenties I have collected anything old and feminine. My favorite things to collect are beautiful glass, vintage lace, anything with flowers and everything to do with vintage weddings.
I guess it is no surprise that my love of those treasures has spilled into my business. My love of glass comes from my childhood and the pretty pieces of colorful glass my mom collected. It is translated into the pieces I make that feature Czech glass. I love the way the light reflects in these beads and the fact that they have been made in Jablonec, Czechoslovakia since the 16th century.
I do love flowers. I love to grow them, make potpourri with their petals and wear them. I use to own an herb store where I made a lot of decorative items using dried flowers. From that experience I know that they do not hold up well in their dried state. I decided to work with silk flowers for their durability. They translate into beautiful tiaras, hair clips and brooches. I have also been experimenting with making my own flowers from paper and recycled materials.
I always thought that I would love to have a business in the wedding industry and kept it in the back of my mind. Though I started GypsyBling by making everyday jewelry, I quickly realized that it was a way to see my dream come true. I have added bridal jewelry and accessories, and have found that I love making pretty things for brides. I hope that my customers will feel the love and passion that I put into the pieces I make for them.
