HATPEACE

He estado cosiendo y haciendo manualidades desde que era una niña. Tuve la bendición de tener una madre que fue muy creativa y me enseñó a coser, hacer ganchillo, bordar y más. Hace diez años comencé a hacer ganchillo, de ahí el nombre de Hat Peace. Desde entonces, me he diversificado en la fabricación de bolsas de edredones locas a partir de telas y diademas recicladas que combinan ganchillo, costura y abalorios. Más recientemente me he enamorado de las cuentas y las he incorporado a algunos de mis bolsos, además, de hacer borlas, pendientes y pulseras. Me atraen las telas étnicas y las cuentas y disfruto combinándolas con tela de jean, encaje, cuero y cualquier otro textil que pueda coser.

I've been sewing and crafting since I was a child. I was blessed to have a mother who was very creative and taught me how to sew, crochet, embroider and more. Ten years ago I began crocheting hats, thus the name Hat Peace. Since that time, I have branched out into making crazy quilt bags from up-cycled fabrics and headbands that combine crocheting, sewing and beading. Most recently I have fallen in love with beads and have incorporated them into some of my bags, in addition, to making tassels, earrings and bracelets. I am drawn to ethnic fabrics and beads and enjoy combining them with jean fabric, lace, leather and any other textile I can sew.
