Had absolutely no problems getting pattern and it was as pictured (that's a nice thing!).

Wonderful pattern. The finished object turned out exactly like the photo, and I learned a lot of new knitting techniques while I was finishing it! Thanks.

About

A Brit in Colorado - inspiring cultures for an eclectic collection

Growing up in a tiny village near York, England I was like many of my generation and culture - I learned to knit at primary school in crafts class and watching my great aunt and Nana both knit. I learned English style and had to adapt being left handed. I was mezmerised by my aunt as she speed knit. Once I learned the technique myself, I adapted it to really help me as a lefty, knit fast, English style.

"With a vivid imagination that runs at 100 miles per hour, I'm into just about any and every art, craft or creative thing I can find to satisfy my need for expression and learning. I may flirt with and go through creative phases, but knit art is always a constant in my life." I have at least 5-6 knitting design projects in progress once.

I've always been a get up and do, creative, make it happen kind of person. I set up, bought, financed and ran my own knitting store at the age of just 26 yrs old in England, where I first started designing knitwear for children, when customers would ask if I could adapt something for them. Since then, I've been a marketing business consultant in both the UK and the USA and all around serial entrepreneur helping small businesses succeed. I figure it's time for me to run my own show.

Hand Knit Artisans came about as a fun little hobby /creative thing to do back in fall of 2011 and just enjoyed the process of creating simple, easy to do but stylish hand knits a beginner can enjoy. I was really pretty amazed when it took off on a small level.

In 2014, I decided to expand this little beginning to grow a "real" business - the beautiful thing about etsy is it has allowed me to cut my marketing and costs down, reach a bigger audience that is totally international and therefore transforming a formally seasonal business into a year round income by reaching others in Australia, New Zealand and the southern hemisphere.

In 2015 I hope to add many more patterns, offer supplies and start creating a one stop shop by offering HKA original knitting kits.
