Creating for My Healthy Mom
My Mom's always been a healthy person. She went to school in the medical field, and worked as a personal trainer when I was a kid. I did a fair amount of homework in the back of a step class.
While I was in massage school, the very first yoga mat bag I made was for her. She also has a matching umbrella carrier for her walks to work in the Oregon weather, and a few other pieces around the house.
I orginally opened my first shop, SamsCrochet.etsy.com to offer to this small niche market. I've since expanded and now been able to offshoot this specialized shop, HandmadeHealth, to maintain this market this is so close to my heart.
My aunt was a big yarn crafter, and loved both knit and crochet projects. As the only one in the family with a love of yarn, I was the one who received her closets full of yarn when she passed a few years ago. I have used all of her yarn, and am still going strong.
All of my family is in Oregon, and it's a spot I dearly love. I never thought I'd ever live anywhere else until I visited Missoula. Though, I'm once again living in Oregon, Missoula will always have a special place in my heart. And since my Husband is from there, we'll have plenty of trips to visit his family in years to come.
