The Beer Can Reinvented
Anybody who grew up during the Great Depression was probably a true pioneer of re-purposing. If something could be used for something else rather than simply discarded, those pioneers figured out a way.
My grandfather was one such pioneer, and when he passed away, I came across a small collection of vintage tin containers that he had saved, some full of nails that he had also stashed away for future use. One of the tins in particular, a Ford Motor Company polishing cloth container, had such wonderful graphics that really spoke to my love for vintage transportation and design. I decided to re-purpose the container into something useful, and hung it beneath a wall-mounted bottle-opener that was attached to my workbench. ..an idea was born!
I see each beer can or container that I come across as a little jewel; diamonds in the rough which have often been stashed away in a box somewhere for 20 or 30 years. The driving force and passion behind my product is bringing these wonderful objects out into the world again, and knowing that they'll be displayed, talked about, and enjoyed for many years to come. Truly re-purposed, just like my grandfather would have done.
I love hearing your stories about old breweries, and being able to track down a specific can that you're looking for is a part of this game that I really enjoy, so please feel free to drop me a line!
