Announcement    Welcome to my shop! I hope you'll pause a moment and look around. I will be adding new products, so please check back often.
I use both naturally colored breed-specific roving and locks as well as dyed batts in my needle felting. It is important to me to use wool and mohair grown and milled in the U.S. as much as possible, and that is what I make everything with unless otherwise noted. I look forward to experimenting with natural and plant dyes to create my own colors, but for now almost all of my supplies come from vendors and small farmers right here on Etsy.
Needle felting is a slow process. It allows you to add layers and textures and remold fibers endlessly. I spend a few hours easily making magnet sets, and longer for larger items.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions. If you see something you are interested in but would like it in a different color or style, please let me know. Custom orders are completely welcome.

fun with wool

Hanmade is the result of my relatively recent love of poking wool over and over again with notched needles. It may sound like a mundane task, but I've always found satisfaction in watching things take form--loose wool being twisted into yarn, soap slowly hardening in the mold, a story finding its perfect ending, or in this case coaxing fibers into tighter, firmer forms.
I buy a good deal of raw wool and am learning how to process and dye it. I like working with it the most in this most basic form, and the fact that these natural textures and colors can be translated into my finished work. I think it's good to take a break from mass produced factory made objects in our lives and get ahold of something more real.

My "studio" consists of me, a table, and my cat, Hector. He deserves 2/3 the credit for anything because he is just so much cooler than I am.
