Hand-poured Beeswax Home Products from Vermont

Williston, Vermont | 202 Sales

Announcement    Welcome to the Etsy Headquarters for The Happy Hive. We are excited to share our all-natural beeswax home products with you! All proceeds from our bee-themed products help to support our apiary, because we think beekeeping is good for us and good for the world!

About our Apiary: We have been keeping bees since 2012, and currently have four hives on our small homestead in Vermont. We process honey once or twice a year from these hives. We use the beeswax from our hives, plus beeswax from other regional apiaries, to make high quality small batch home products.

Raising bees is a labor of love for us, and not just a business. The products on this site help us to put funds toward the purchase of new bees, beekeeping equipment, and other necessary supplies. In turn, our bees help to pollinate not only our own fruits and vegetables but nearby orchards and flowers as well. It's our little way of "saving the bees" - a species sadly threatened by pesticides.

If there is a bee-related product you'd like to see in our shop, or if you're interested in a customized product, don't hesitate to contact us!

"My husband said I should rename my leather conditioner \"shoe rescue.\" Found this pair of Frye work boots buried in a bin at a thrift store and knew I had to rescue them. A quick wash with a toothbrush followed by treatment with our polish and \"voila!\""
"Using our beeswax furniture polish to bring a family heirloom back to life. This desk is being passed on to a fourth generation for our daughter to use during virtual learning days. Just look how the right side that has been polished gleams!"
We have reformulated our beeswax products to make them healthier for you and better for the world! We switched from Mineral Oil (refined petroleum) to Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil - a naturally processed long lasting vegetable oil. New packaging too!

Our Happy Hive

We have been beekeepers since 2012 when we brought our first hive home to our suburban Vermont duplex and installed it in our small backyard. When we moved to a house with more land down the street, my husband drove the bees (decked out in his bee suit) 2 miles down the road in the back of a Subaru.

Since then, beekeeping has becoming a signature part of our lives. We have bees because we know they are important to the world, and we love the way that they operate. The actions that bees take when they are collecting pollen not only benefit their own hive, but they benefit the rest of the world. They pollinate the flowers and vegetables that keep us all going.

We hope to live our life in the same way. We take care of our little plot of land in a way that we know is good for our family, but in doing so we hope to also have a positive impact on the world. Whether it's the vegetables we grow and share, or the solar power that supplies our home, we make decisions with the bigger picture in mind.

Beekeeping is a labor of love - we don't make a ton of money at the scale at which we operate. But we do it because we love it and we believe it is important work. The sales from our Etsy page help keep our little apiary going.

Thank you for visiting our shop, and helping us to do good !
