5 out of 5 starsCrushed box an creases in paper. Hoping to get them out. packaging could have been better for such a long journey from Japan.

Daisy, thank you for your feedback. As you advised, I changed the order packaging for a sturdy cardboard tube. I will ask for "fragile" stickers as well. I hadn't received complains from damaged packaging before you, but you may be the 1 out of 10 cases that has reported the problem. Again, thank you.

5 out of 5 starsI would have rated the shipping higher but the box was pretty crushed and the paper has some pretty noticeable creases . The paper is very nice and im hoping I can get the creases out so I can use it for what I intended. I think in the future I would recommend better packaging to prevent damage to the paper. I do realize that the paper made a long journey from Japan. Maybe upping the shipping cost alittle more to cover a tube type shipping. Other than that…. Paper was wrapped and nicely packaged just didnt make the long journey with a crushed and bent box. I would buy more paper if the box was more sturdy. Also marking the box fragile might have helped.

Ueda Handmade Washi Workshop
Tsuyama, Japan
The Ueda family runs a paper mill that produces the Yokono Washi, mainly from the fibers of paper bush mitsumata. Their main products are washi for gold gilding and red oxides dyed "bengara" washi. Workshops processing mitsumata are becoming rare in Japan and I was lucky to visit this place.
