Family Heritage
Hello! A little about us. Our family has been in the antique/auction business for over four generations . My grandfather sold his paintings and taught here at the art studio. My father has over 50 years experience as an upholsterer. I come from a large close-knit family where so many are blessed with creativity. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and my brother. Some of us have studied at art colleges others took differnet paths and used their talents in business. When I was a teenager I would take scraps and sew myself one of a kind jackets to wear to school. I was always in the shop making something. When we are creating we are absorbed and doing things that bring us contentment. I remember waking up early on saturday mornings before anyone was awake and going out to the shop to sew clothes for my cats when I was twelve. I gained inspiration from antique german picture books with old images of cats dressed in bonnets in vintage strollers.
Growing up around antiques and furniture has given me a passion for home décor, fabrics and paint finishes! Etsy allows us to share our love of fabric and design with others nationwide!
Our shop is located in an historic 1700's Grain Store here on the Farm. My grandmother used to have an old photograph of horses and wagons pulled up in front of the building. An older gentleman from town stopped in the other day to say when he was a boy during WWII he used to pick cucumbers on our farm and they made and stored the pickles in the building for the troops that is now our shop. A few years back three woman stopped by to tell us they grew up here. On one sisters wedding day the hurricane of 38 struck and shook the farmhouse almost off the foundation. The stone silos wooden roof was found the next day about seven miles down the road. The farmhouse was built in 1798 by Reverend Lemuel Tyler. His church is across the street and I love hearing the church bells ring everyday @ 6pm. I love hearing these stories and love this old farmhouse where through GODS blessings my children are fourth generation. I am so grateful for all our customers and having the opportunity to provide something special to enhance the beauty of your homes. Home is a special place that we all cherish. I hope you enjoy our selection of fabrics and find something that says "HOME" to you!
