A Hundred Years of Passion and Craft
In 1926, Anna Sterkowska opened a small workshop in Warsaw. She could not have known then that four generations later her grandchildren would be sewing caps for people all over the world. One thing she did know: that a good cap is born of the meeting between excellent material and true craftsmanship.
The Test of Time
Through decades of war, occupation and political upheaval, our family never abandoned the art of making headwear. When the Warsaw Uprising broke out in 1944, production came to a halt, and Zygmunt Sterkowski - Anna's son - joined the resistance. Deported to Germany as a forced labourer, he returned in 1945 determined to rebuild the family workshop. Despite the repression of the communist era, the company survived by committing to quality, traditional techniques and craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation. We remained a symbol of Polish craftsmanship and perseverance.
In a hundred years, nothing in that philosophy has changed. Every cap and every hat that leaves our workshop is the fruit of knowledge handed on from one pair of hands to the next, from generation to generation. It's no coincidence - it's continuity: the same principles, the same care and the same passion that have been with us since the very first day. We're proud to bring you new headwear each and every day.
Craft That Endures
Today, though the times have changed, the essence remains untouched. The whole of our production takes place in Poland, in the hands of artisans who know their trade to perfection. Behind every cap there's no anonymous assembly line, but a specific person - their experience, their eye and their precision. We treat the sewing of headwear as an art, not as mass production.
We reach for the finest materials the world has to offer: noble wools, tweeds, linens and cottons from the best mills. We believe a cap is only as good as the material it's made from - and as sure as the hands that sewed it.
We're history enthusiasts too, and we draw on it by the handful. Classic styles, time-tested cuts and details that have endured for decades aren't a passing fashion to us - they're a heritage we proudly carry on and pass forward.
A hundred years ago, Anna Sterkowska committed to quality and craft. We do exactly the same - and we have no intention of changing that for the next hundred years.
