Building memories one block at a time...
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who liked to make things. She made lots and lots of things. She called her things "art". The little girl grew up and went to art school, where she made more things. Upon graduating Moore College of Art and Design with a BFA in fashion illustration, the young woman decided instead to be a graffiti artist {true}, raise a family of her own, and yes...make more things. She welded things, she sculpted things, she drew and stenciled things and sometimes, her things found their way into art shows and galleries in far off lands like Philadelphia, New York City, Las Vegas, and London. But the things she liked to make most were made from power tools. And wood. One day, the young lass {she's only 43 and that's still young...to someone} decided to paint some wood things that she had just cut and sanded with her beloved power tools. And on that day in the village {ok, suburb of Philly}, Block Party was created and the young lass filled her home with her newly made things. She decided she couldn't keep them all for herself, as she was a very kind young lass...and her home was only so big...so she set forth on her journey to create wood things to fill the homes of family, friends, and strangers alike. By doing this, the young lass found that she was never so happy working. She filled her days with strolls down the aisles of Home Depot, picnics in the park with power tools...ok, ok, not a park but her backyard. And picnics really mean just coffee. Maybe a donut. The point, and the moral of the story, is that our young lass lived happily ever after making her wood things. For those wood things made people smile. They placed them in their homes and passed by them every day, which brought happy thoughts, filled with loved ones and fond memories. And this made the young lass happy. The End xox
