Small batch. Made from scratch.
Hawk + Aspen Handmade was born out of a desire to pursue a lifelong love of jewellery design and as a complement to my primary career as a psychotherapist. I have since taken time away from my psychology career and opened a garden centre - making growing plants and crafting jewellery my full time occupations.
I take inspiration from nature, ancient artifacts, astronomy - working in recycled brass, sterling silver, enamel on both copper and fine silver and keum-boo. The use of various materials allows me to offer items in multiple price points and explore multiple techniques and styles from modern bohemian to simple minimalist designs. I occasionally translate jewellery designs into larger scale enamel, brass & copper wall art.
Pieces are designed by me, consciously crafted by hand, from scratch using traditional metal smithing techniques. I am always adding new skills and techniques to my toolbox. I have recently begun cutting my own stones and am excited to improve that skill!
When ever possible I use recycled metals and found/repurposed objects. The concept of slow fashion, quality pieces made to last generations, is close to my heart and I create with sustainability in mind.
Thank you for stopping by!
