Hi and welcome to Helpful Hound, based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada!
I began my pet accessory business in Early 2010. It all began as a charity fundraising giveaway for the SPCA that Piper (My handsome English Pointer) and I attended to help raise funds and awareness for shelter dogs. It quickly became more than we ever expected. Within days I had custom requests keeping me busy for months.
In 2011, I began making Tug-A-Roos (Conceptualized trying to keep my chew-monster busy with something that Didn't have stuffing), and in 2012 I added, Coats, Crate pads and Bedrolls to the expanding product list. I continue to donate to numerous local rescue organizations. In late 2013 I rescued another beautiful English Pointer pup (Aura) from TN, USA and in 2014 I expanded my donations to include 2 English Pointer Rescues based in the USA. Later that year I began making Character-based collar & leashes.
In November of 2015 I raised money (with the help of an incredible English Pointer on-line community!) and flew to South Korea to rescue 2 English Pointers from the meat market (Gunner & Gemma). I donated many goodies for The Wizards of Hope Shelter...many of the dogs had never had a ball or toy to play with! I volunteered for 5 days at the shelter during my stay - I cleaned runs, helped socialize, feed and comfort many dogs. It was an eye-opening, yet incredible experience. I returned to Canada 2 Pointers richer! Lovable Gunner now lives in Illinois, USA with his new family and best bud, Pointer Molly, and sweet Gemma suddenly passed away in November 2017 after 2 years with us. She's still here with us in our hearts...my soul dog forever... Piper and Aura, now have a little Pointer sister named Pepper who came to us after our breeder learned of Gemma's passing. I will always have a Pointer glued to me!

For only $10.00, I can customize your item with machine embroidery for a lasting, beautiful personal touch. I have almost 100 embroidery colours to choose from, and several fonts available as well.
