How We Got Started

Several years ago, I was getting my hair cut and my stylist asked what shampoo I used. I told her the name of a popular line of products available in local stores and my stylist said I might as well be washing in laundry detergent! I started researching ways to get away from all the harsh chemicals that seemed to be in everything! After reading the back of my shampoo and body wash bottles, I looked up what all those sulphates, laureths, and parabens were. I found many studies linking these chemicals to anything from skin irritation to possible autoimmune disease to early puberty. I also learned that 90% of what you put on your skin is absorbed into your body. So I decided I needed to find something better, safer, and healthier for my family, especially my small grandchildren. Herb Garden Body Care was born.
I spent the next several years of hunting down the best quality organic and natural soap supply companies, and perfecting my soap recipes to give the best scents, suds and moisture without detergents, alcohol, parabens, and harsh chemicals. I even started an herb garden, growing as much as possible for my artisan soaps.
I carry artisan soaps with recipes designed to rejuvenate, relax or soothe, while moisturizing and cleansing. My lotions and creams are great for daily use, without leaving a greasy residue. My fun soaps are cute to look at, a fun addition to your little one's bath time and safe for sensitive skin. My party favors are a unique, useful gift that will have your guests talking.
